Student Expectations
Student Expectations
Students are expected to complete assigned work by their class period on the given due date. Any work handed in late will result in a deduction of ten points per day from the grade of the assignment, unless otherwise excused.
Grades will be weighted as follows:
Classroom Research & Inquiry 20%
Assessments 20%
Homework 20%
Papers & Presentations 20%
Collaboration 20%
Tests: Students are required to take a quiz or test the day they return from their absence.
Participation: Participation is expected. Throughout the year students will be assessed on participation. This includes being involved in class discussions, as well as working cooperatively and effectively with other students. In addition, the use of any unauthorized electronic device, or continually talking during the class will result in a low participation grade.
Expectations: Students are expected to enthusiastically complete a series of varied assignments throughout this year. This includes classwork, homework, quizzes, projects, and tests. Students are responsible for material and content from all of these assignments.
Your Best: Students are expected to come to every class with enthusiasm and perform at their personal best; just as a person would when competing in a sporting event or applying for employment. Performing at your personal best is a valuable habit for success.
